IT’S every singer’s worst nightmare: You invite 70 000 people to a gig, and only one turns up.
Charlotte Church, 28, issued an open invitation on Twitter for fans to appear in her new music video, hoping that a healthy percentage of her 70 000 followers would turn up.
But only one – professional extra actor Julian Gillard, 42 – arrived for the video shoot in the singer’s home city of Cardiff.
A determined Miss Church started asking passers-by to dance to her new song, Little Movements, which was being played on a boom box.
Market stall holder Stuart Talbot, 48, saved the day by showing his fancy footwork.
He said: “I got to dance with Charlotte Church. There’s not many men who can say that.”
After the shoot, mother-of-two Miss Church said the day had been “a great success”.
Meanwhile, things seem to be rocky in Church’s private life as well, as the singer claims she “doesn’t have a lot of money”.
Reputed to be worth £25 million in 2003, by 2010 she was down to £11 million, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.
The mother-of-two has sold more than ten million records since her album Voice Of An Angel was released when she was 12.
“I haven’t got a lot of money,” she said. “I’ve got enough to be comfortable if I was reasonable for the rest of my life, but I’m not reasonable, so I will have to find a way to sustain my lifestyle.” - Daily Mail
