Music fans are struggling to contain their excitement amid rumours that popular boy band One Direction is in town or perhaps on their way.

According to various One Direction fan sites on Twitter and Facebook, the boys arrived in Africa last Saturday.

They says the band is in Ghana and will move to Cape Town to shoot a charity music video for their song One Way or Another for the Comic Relief organisation.

“1D in Cape Town, could it be?” tweeted a Capetonian, Nuraine Dunsay.

A friend of the group Marius “Maz” Listhrop posted a YouTube video on Sunday, confirming that the group are in Africa.

According to the Twitter fan page, @Go1DenUpdates, the boys were due to leave the continent on January 17.
