London - Taylor Swift thinks Prince William is "so cool."

She said: "He was very funny. I was really happy he was funny."

According to the MailOnline website, the 23-year-old star also told reporters: "It's positively magical here. There are fairy lights and there is fake snow falling from the sky and everything is just gorgeous. I am just very lucky to be here."

The US superstar was one of several acts, along with Jon Bon Jovi, James Blunt, Tinie Tempah and Eliza Doolittle, to perform in front of 600 guests at the black-tie event and said it felt "very special."

Upon arriving at the gala, she added: "I'm absolutely excited. I don't think I've ever played at a palace before so it is really wonderful. It's really wondrous, I think they've done an amazing job of putting this together."

Prince William, 33, attended the event solo as Duchess Catherine opted to stay at home to mind their four-month-old son, Prince George.
