London - Adam Levine was "flooded with emotion" upon his reunion with new fiancée Behati Prinsloo.

The Maroon 5 frontman announced his surprise engagement to the brunette beauty last Tuesday (16.07.13) after they had split earlier this year, and it is thought the singer was determined to win her back after having an epiphany.

A source told website Us Weekly: "Adam kept talking to Behati and was flooded with emotion when they saw each other again. He knew he wanted to propose."

The 34-year-old star was spotted on holiday with Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Nina Agdal last month, but it appears the romance was short-lived because Adam was still besotted with Behati, 24.

An insider said: "The Nina thing was not that serious and was not going to last. After Adam broke up with Behati, he couldn't stop thinking about her. He realised he really loved her and wanted to be with her."

The singer reportedly left Nina "heartbroken" after she learned of his impending nuptials through an impersonal note, according to the New York Post newspaper.

Adam’s 24-year-old fiancée recently said she was "so happy" about becoming the future Mrs. Levine and revealed that Adam proposed on a traditional bended knee.

She said: "I am so happy and excited and still can't believe it's true! It was a one-knee thing! It was serious, it was very old school!"

The lovestruck couplecelebrated their engagement in New York City last Tuesday night, where they were spotted "canoodling" over a romantic meal at Peels restaurant.- Bang Showbiz
