Charlie Sheen and his long-time publicist have parted ways, as the star prepares to make a “revealing personal announcement” on TV amid reports that he is HIV positive.

The former 'Anger Management' star is no longer be working with his friend of 35 years, Jeff Ballard, following a "disagreement over a situation".

Jeff told People magazine on Monday: "We had a disagreement how to handle a situation and we parted ways. We have had a 35-year friendship and I love him. I wish him nothing but the best."

Jeff's comments ahead of a "revealing personal announcement" Charlie is set to make today during an interview with 'Today' host Matt Lauer.

The tell-all chat comes amid widespread speculation the 50-year-old actor - who has a daughter, Cassandra, 30, with ex-girlfriend Paula Profit, daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 10, with ex-wife Denise Richards, and twins Bob and Max, six, with former spouse Brooke Mueller - is HIV positive.

Meanwhile, Charlie's business partner Bob Maron has hailed the 'Young Guns' star as a "living legend".

He told TMZ: "Charlie Sheen is a living legend. His legacy is that he's one of the greatest actors of his generation, and has entertained us for more than 30 years.

"Those who know him personally would undoubtedly agree that he's one of the funniest, most generous and bravest guys I have known. I am incredibly proud to call him both a friend and a business partner."
