The little sibling of the immensely popular PlayStation series of consoles is all grown up. It’s been three years since the handheld PS Vita was released and over 10-million gamers around the world have already been seduced by its many charms.

Following on from the success of PlayStation’s first hand-held device, the PSP or PlayStation Portable, the Vita – as its Latin moniker suggests – sought to breathe new life into the handheld category with ever more impressive graphics, augmented reality and cross-console capabilities. The device supports remote play. This means the Vita can be used as a second device in tandem with the PS4, allowing for the streaming of content directly from the PS4 to the Vita, which in turn allows you to play certain games remotely.

If you already own a PSVita, what better way to celebrate your acquisition than with even more game time.

The PlayStation Store is offering Vita fans tremendous discounts on both new and classic video game titles, as well as a selection of custom themes designed to add a sense of style to this birthday celebration. Some must-have titles like The God of War Collection, The Sly Trilogy, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss are sporting a nearly 50% discount, but the offer ends tomorrow, so it’s time to put those super-quick fingers to the test.
