Elizabeth Taylor has launched her own jewellery range "to bring happiness" to others.
The screen legend is expanding her multi-million dollar business empire, House Of Taylor, from perfume to sparklers.
The 72-year-old actress, who collects exotic jewellery as a hobby, has teamed up with top American jewellers Mirabelle to launch the unique collection - which will see pieces sell for up to $1-million (about R6-million).
The star, who owns several rare diamonds, said: "I wanted to share my passion with others so they could truly enjoy the thrills and pure happiness that jewellery has brought to my life."
The news will come as a surprise to fans of the star who in recent years has suffered a string of serious illnesses.
Taylor's spokesperson, wryly commented: "Not bad for someone who's meant to be near to becoming a corpse."
