Eva Mendes doesn’t feel like she has earned her “Mother’s Day stripes”.
The actress has no plans to celebrate the special day on Sunday because she doesn’t think she’s been a parent long enough to deserve to have a fuss made of her.
Mendes, 41, has seven-month-old Esmeralda with partner Ryan Gosling.
“There’s no plan. I kind of feel like I haven’t quite earned my stripes yet,” she said.
Instead, the Hitch actress, whose brother Carlos Mendez is believed to be battling cancer, plans to visit her own mother and “bombard her with love”.
“This Mother’s Day is definitely all about my mom. She’s had a really hard year. My brother’s sick, so it’s all about my mom, honouring her. We’re going to go over to her house and bombard her with love,” she said.
