Ice-T won't be buying Coco Austin a push present.

The 57-year-old actor can't understand the trend for men giving their partners a lavish gift after they have given birth because the baby should be enough of a reward.

He said: “Let's think about this really, ladies...you want a gift, I get it.

“But, shouldn't the baby be the gift? I mean, are you sitting there holding the baby like, 'Oh, that's beautiful, where's my gift?'

“Well, c'mon where'd my ring go? Put the baby to the side, what did I get? It's not a prize, you don't win a prize for having a baby.”

Pregnant Coco, 36, insisted it was more of an “appreciation gift”, but her spouse still wasn't swayed.

Speaking during the taping of their talk show 'Ice & Coco', he said: “I think if you appreciate your wife and she's been through a struggle, you can give her a gift. But I don't think it should be demanded or expected.”

Instead, Ice pledged to take Coco out for a cut-price dinner.

He joked: “I'm going to take you out to a good dinner. I'll take you to In-N-Out or something.... so you know I appreciate and love you.

“Taco Bell? ...Where you wanna go? Wendy's?”

Despite all this, Coco Austin is a “slave” to her husband.

The 'Ice and Coco' star has revealed she prefers to be the submissive one in their relationship.

Speaking on Watch What Happens Live, she said: “I think all women should do it. I'm a slave to him. It has been 15 years and it has worked out.”

However, she quickly insisted she did it “out of choice” because “she's into that”.

Meanwhile, the couple - who are expecting their first child together - have banned friends and family from giving them any advice about pregnancy.

Ice-T said: “We hate advice from outsiders. That's one of the reasons she wanted to keep it a secret. As soon as you're pregnant, people come to you with impending doom ... You have some people that will come up to you and go, 'Oh, it's gonna be wonderful,' but most people are like, 'You know your life is over, right? You're not gonna ever sleep again.'“

Whilst Coco added: “Oh my God, it's the worst! Everybody is in my area, you know, 'You can't wear heels anymore, don't eat fish.' They're always telling me what to do and I'm like, 'Okay, well I haven't done anything bad.'“
