Jennifer Hudson says parenting keeps her fit.

The 'Dreamgirls' star has admitted she dislikes working out as much as anyone else but credits her five-year-old son David for making it fun.

She explained: “We were outside in our front yard recently playing ball and I was like 'What other parent does this?' I know they think we're the strangest people, but we keep up with the kids ...

“In the summertime, I like to do outdoor activities with my son like bike riding, playing basketball or skating. Big David [her fiancé David Otunga] and I are very active parents.”

And the 33-year-old beauty has insisted she doesn't mind keeping fit as long as she can do it in a fun way.

She added to PEOPLE magazine: “[I like] making it fun. If I'm not comfortable and if I can't Jennifer-ize it and make it enjoyable for me, it's not going to happen.”

Meanwhile, David is equally excited about moving to New York when Jennifer starts her run in Broadway show 'The Color Purple'.

She said previously: “He's excited. He's like, 'Mommy? So we're moving to New York? When are we moving?'

“And every time we come throughout the summer, he's like, 'Are we here to stay now?'“
