A pair of Queen Victoria's bloomers will be sold at auction.
The nineteenth century silk underwear - which is noted as having a 52 inch waist - is set to go under the hammer at Westernhanger Auctioneers in Stamford, Kent, on October 12 with a guide price of £2000.
The bloomers also come with a 66-inch chemise belonging to the ample-chested queen, who is thought to have gifted the briefs to a member of her Royal household as a thank you for their time in her service, reports Express.co.uk.
Auctioneer Michael Hogben said: "This is definitely one of the strangest items I have ever had the opportunity to sell in my 40-odd years in the business. This really is a once in a blue moon sale. Things like this don't come around very often.
"They were passed down through the generations, and they are in exquisite condition because they've spent the last 75 years in a drawer.
"The underwear was gifted to a member of staff for their good service. It's amazing to think that this is something that once brushed the Royal rear."
It isn't the first time a pair of the Queen's knickers have been sold at auction.
At an Edinburgh auction house in 2011, two pairs of the former monarch's pants sold for around £5,000 each.
An entire set of Queen Victoria's underwear was also added to the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection at London's Kensington Palace in 2008 after being marked as a 'national treasure'. – Bang Showbiz
