Jessica Simpson’s baby is “eating like a champ”.
The singer and actress gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew on Wednesday and Jessica’s friends revealed the baby already has a healthy appetite.
A source told US Weekly: “Maxwell is eating like a champ and has a big appetite. The birth went smoothly and Jessica is already up and walking around and bonding with her little girl.
“Everyone is marvelling at what a natural Jessica is. She was born to be a mom!”
Jessica’s family parents Joe and Tina and sister Ashlee were in the hospital for the baby's birth, along with her fiance Eric Johnson and his parents.
The source added: “That's how Jessica and Eric wanted it.”
The couple – who put their wedding on hold until after the birth - say becoming parents has been “the greatest experience” of their lives.
A posting on Jessica's website read: “Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson.
