When Tom Cruise displays super-human abilities in his movies, he may not be acting.
That’s because, according to a bizarre revelation about the actor’s relationship with Scientology, Cruise is believed to have developed “telekinetic and telepathic powers”.
In 2006, a Rolling Stone magazine investigation into Scientology revealed that Cruise was at an advanced level in the organisation and was known as an “Operating Thetan” or OT. In the article, writer Janet Reitman explains that OTs “have total control over themselves and their environment.
“OTs can allegedly move inanimate objects with their minds, leave their bodies at will and telepathically communicate with, and control the behaviour of, both animals and human beings.”
Reitman further explained that OTs progress towards a “God-like state”.
“At the highest levels, they are allegedly liberated from the physical universe, to the point where they can psychically control what Scientologists call MEST: Matter, Energy, Space and Time.”
Whatever his abilities, Cruise was unable to keep a hold on his ex-wife Katie Holmes, who apparently blindsided him with divorce papers, leading to a quickie settlement this week. One former Scientologist who isn’t surprised is Nancy Meny, who worked at the infamous Sea Organisation said to be at the heart of the Cruise/Holmes split. Meny told gossip site Radar Online that Cruise had been duped into the religion.
“I knew some of the people who kid-gloved him into becoming a member. Everything was orchestrated and orientated. Tom has a problem reading so they don’t have him doing the course on his own and paired him up one-on-one.
