Another Emmy nod for Late Nite News

THE satirical news show, Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola has received an Emmy Award nomination for the second consecutive year.

The eNCA production was one of four nominees in the International Comedy category announced on Monday.

Gola, a stand-up comedian and host of the show, tweeted that he was humbled by the nomination.

“Thank you to the television arts and sciences for the recognition. Another international Emmy nomination is humbling.

“Late Nite News nominated for a second Emmy Award in the category of International Comedy.

“This Emmy nomination is dedicated to those who fought for freedom of speech in South Africa,” he tweeted.

Other nominees in the category are Australia’s Please Like Me, Belgium’s Wat als 2? and Brazil’s The Mayor’s Wife.

The 42nd International Emmy awards take place in New York on November 24. - Cape Argus
