If you are a die-hard Keyshia Cole ( pictured) fan, you would know that she is back in the TV business with another reality show called Keyshia Cole All In.

Last time we saw her in this regard, the singer starred in a show with her then-husband, NBA player Daniel Gibson. The union was akin to that of singer Monica and NBA player Shannon Brown, only much briefer. Keyshia and her husband’s show was called Keyshia & Daniel: Family First. There was only one season and then the pair started to have their problems and that was the last of it.

They have since separated so there goes the idea of a second season. When she was questioned by fans as to whether the show would return, Cole denied it because she felt that there was poor editing that made it appear as if she was disrespectful to her husband.

Prior to that, Cole had another reality show, her first one, Keyshia Cole: The Way It, is which did relatively well and opened doors to other opportunities in her career.

This year she has another idea for a reality TV show where we catch up with her life after Daniel. She is on the Point Of No Return tour and shows the pressures that come with the painful time of having lost her man. Other people to look out for are her mother and sister with whom she shares most of her time. Those who really love her music will also get to see the creative process that the Grammy-nominated singer went through with what is now her last album with Interscope.

While it might be sad that she broke up with Daniel, this might give way to a stellar R&B album about heartbreak. We are talking about being in that Adele lane where one writes from a place of true emotion. Her voice is suited to that kind of content as she is on that Mariah and Mary J Blige level when it comes to ballads.

If you ever wondered if reality shows are for promoting albums, this is one confirmation. Fantasia did it countless times and was successful. Instead of letting the tabloids tell their stories, these stars are doing it themselves – and getting paid for it. Do not be surprised when Cole has another reality show next year which will be about something else altogether.

l Keyshia Cole All In airs on BET (DStv channel 12) every Friday at 8.10pm.
