Johannesburg - You can always count on Big Brother SA for hot, steamy action, but this isn’t quite the drama producers and fans would have been hoping for.

The new season of the reality show/experiment was set to kick off this Sunday, but has since been postponed because of a fire which damaged the house on September 2. How ironic, then, that the new season was to be dubbed Big Brother Hotshots.

The cause of the fire is unknown and, according to a statement released by Multichoice, investigations will take place soon.

In the meantime, M-Net and Endemol are “urgently looking for an alternative Big Brother house in which to film the production, however as this production has highly technical infrastructure, camera and edit requirements, an alternative is not immediately available”.

After the sordid shenanigans of last year’s Big Brother, especially the explicit shower sex featuring Lexi and Mandla, there is sure to be plenty of interest in this new season. Let’s hope the wait is worth it. - Tonight Reporter
