JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's Late Night News with Loyiso Gola (LNN) received a nomination for best comedy in the 42nd International Emmy Awards, the show's production company Diprente said on Tuesday.

“We're beyond excited to have been nominated - it's a huge thumbs up for our industry, showing that South African talent is on par with what's on offer in the rest of the world,” said co-founder of Diprente and director of LNN, Kagiso Lediga.

The LNN team attended the awards ceremony in New York on Monday.

The comedy show, co-created by Gola, Lediga, and Tamsin Andersson, has been running for four years and was also nominated for an Emmy last year.

“(LNN's) enduring popularity is testimony to its unerring ability to push satire to its limits,” Diprente said. - Sapa
