FOLLOWING the success of Mandla & Lexi, the reality series on Mzansi Magic, it was only natural that the channel would bring out yet another show in this vein and Ntombi & Ace was the right choice.
The pair, Nkanyiso “Ace” Khumalo and Ntombifuthi “Ntombi” Tshabalala, won this year’s edition of Big Brother Mzansi: Double Trouble and walked away with R2 million. We have seen them at several events since then and this show peeks into their lives post- Big Brother Mzansi.
As with Mandla and Lexi, Ntombi and Ace have become an overnight sensation and their true colours show through in this series.
When they first entered the house it was clear they were favourites as they brought with them that kasi swagger which helped people in the street relate to them. On the reality show, whether they are attending prestigious shows like the annual MTV Africa Music Video Awards, or chilling at a braai in Soweto, the two are just as exciting to watch.
The notion that opposites attract is pretty flawed when it comes to this couple. He is calmer than she is, but in their element, there’s nothing that stops them both from partying up a storm all night long. If we didn’t know better, thanks to Big Brother Mzansi, we’d be inclined to think they were popping pills, as there simply is no limit to their energy.
Parental Advisory Productions, which was responsible for Mandla & Lexi will also be handling this show. The company is co-owned by Lungile Radu, Siya Ngwekazi and Thomas Gumede.
We catch up with Ntombi and Ace as they deal with their newfound fortune. They will be relocating into a bigger place to give their son more room.
