He’s made millions of South Africans the butt of his practical jokes, but now the joke is on Leon Schuster.

The comedy legend has been chosen as the second South African personality to get a Comedy Central Roast.

The roasting will be recorded in front of a live audience at Gold Reef City next April.

Schuster tweeted on Thursday: “Oh Schuks! Sticks and stones may break my Bones, but now I’m gonna be roasted by @ComedyCentralAF!”

Like firebrand Steve Hofmeyr in 2012, Schuster will be hauled over the coals by a panel of peers, friends, enemies, comics and entertainers with a humorous barrage of praise, criticism, jokes and downright lies.

Evert van der Veer, Channel Director of Comedy Central Africa, says: “This is South Africa’s chance to get some revenge on the nation’s most infamous practical joker!” - Daily Voice
