London - LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian's reality TV show has been cancelled.

The VH1 programme, which was aptly named 'LeAnn & Eddie', has been axed after just an eight-episode run in its first season, E! has confirmed.

The couple - who met when Eddie was married to 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Brandi Glanville and LeAnn to chef Dean Sheremet - previously said they were going to use the show to dismiss certain public opinion about their marriage.

LeAnn - who married Eddie in April 2011 - said: "The biggest global misconception would be that we're not two people who are really in love with each other, that there are ulterior motives to our relationship.

"But people just don't get it. Hopefully people will get a chance to see how we just click."

The 32-year-old beauty announced last year on the reality TV show that she had stopped using birth control as she was keen to start a family with Eddie - who has two kids with Brandi, Mason, 11, and seven-year-old Jake - after being told by a specialist that her fertility levels were lower than normal.

Speaking to 41-year-old actor, she said: "She [the specialist] told me that my levels are on the lower side of normal and that we should not be waiting very much longer. Does that freak you out?"

But he appeared to question whether or not they wanted a child just yet.

LeAnn replied: "I know we were not planning on having a child right now, but I also do not want to miss what possibly could be my only opportunity to have a child naturally." - BANG Showbiz
