Toni Braxton and Babyface are headed to Mzansi! The acclaimed American R&B artists will bring their music to Durban on 30 August, Cape Town on 1 September and Johannesburg on 3 September. But first, they will kick off their African excursion in Zimbabwe on 28 August.
The pair whose 2014 album, Love, Marriage & Divorce, won the Best R&B award at the Grammys this year are brought to you by Canoc Live, who also orchestrated concerts by Rick Ross, Maxwell and Kenny G.
In addition to the outstanding solo work that Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds has released, he’s also had a major part in the careers of some of the singers who are loved the world over. Artists like Whitney Houston, TLC, Boyz II Men and even Mdonna. Unsurprisingly, this artist has 11 Grammy Awards to his name.
Toni Braxton is no stranger to the world of music and even TV – she’s currently in reality show Braxton Family Values (on DStv’s channel, Vuzu) with her sisters. Her self-titled debut album which was released in 1993 won her a Grammy. Not surprising, since most of her hot singles were penned by Babyface who was then a part of LaFace Records with executive LA Reid. She has since bagged seven Grammys in total.
Often calling him her “musical husband,” Toni was coaxed out of early retirement by Babyface to record Love, Marriage & Divorce – a series of songs about these stages of life, mostly sung as duets. But this is not the only thing you can expect from the superstars in concert.
