GIG OF THE WEEK

Dan patlansky and friends

The Barnyard Theatre

(Tuesday)

AWARD-winning guitarist, Dan Patlansky, performs at the Barnyard Theatre on Tuesday with guest appearances by three friends.

A press release states Patlansky has just finished the third leg of his four-leg European tour to promote his latest album, Dear Silence Thieves.

Patlansky is still enjoying the success of this his seventh album, which was voted the No 1 Blues Rock Album in the World last year by Blues Rock Review – USA. Last year also saw him perform as the opening act for Bruce Springsteen’s tour to South Africa.

Comfortably into his second generation of frayed, Fender electric-fuelled storytelling, the blues and Patlansky are welded at the hip. The press release further states that after Dear Silence Thieves swept to No 1 last year, he received rave reviews in the international press.

The offering was released in the UK on April 27, the same day he performed a launch showcase concert at The Borderline in London.

In March, legendary guitarist Joe Satriani also announced Patlanksy as a guest on his nine-date UK Shockwave November 2015 tour.

l Don’t miss Dan Patlansky and friends on Tuesday at 8pm at The Barnyard Theatre. R150. For bookings: 031 566 3045. – Tonight Reporter
