Masterclass and International Scholarship Programme Opportunities for singers:

Applications are invited from prospective participants in a masterclass to be held in Pretoria in February next year, conducted by Professor Josef Protschka from Musikhochschule in Cologne, Germany. Between January 31 and February 6, Prof Protschka will offer masterclasses at the University of Pretoria. Candidates are asked to send a CV and an audio recording, (preferably mp3 files) to [email protected]. The recording should include the following repertoire: one work each from the Baroque and Classical (preferably Mozart) periods, a 19th-century opera aria, plus a lied of the candidate’s choice. Eight candidates will be accepted as active participants. Selected candidates are responsible for organising their own travel to and accommodation in Pretoria, but there is no charge for the masterclass. One student will be chosen for a one year academic study with Prof Protschka at the Music College in Cologne. The Apollo Music Trust will cover the expenses of that year of study.
