The Imbewu Trust’s 2015 SCrIBE Scriptwriting Competition entries are open. It is a platform for writers to have their work developed with prizes including a run at a Cape Town theatre and the opportunity to receive feedback at a week of staged readings with audience and industry professionals. Scripts should be in English, no longer than 40 pages or 80 minutes long with a maximum of five cast members. Auditions:

Auditions are being held for Palissander, one of South Africa’s premier chamber choirs, based in Pretoria. The choir tours overseas every second year and auditions are held for a short period for members who can join the choir on its tour in July. There are vacancies for a first tenor, a second tenor and a baritone. Previous choral experience and sight-reading ability are strongly recommended. Call for Submissions:

Community Theatre Arts Development Programme and Arts Festival 2015 announces its call for submissions. Commuinity theatre artists and any arts organisations in any art disciplines in Tshwane, interested in being part of this year’s programme can e-mail [email protected]; cc [email protected] or call 012 382 2564. The month-long multi-purpose programme will showcase performances by community theatre groups from Tshwane. The Department of Entertainment Technology will again conduct various training, interactive support and development sessions with the community theatre organisations. These include technical support, a series of workshops concerning technical theatre and drama aspects of performing arts. Deadline for submissions is June 6.
