Bushakevitz duo for Durban

THE Friends of Music present the Bushakevitz Duo on Tuesday with Avigail (above) on violin and Ammiel (right) on piano.

Avigail was born in Jerusalem and grew up in South Africa. She studied the violin in South Africa and studied at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. She has won many awards locally and internationally. Ammiel was also born in Jerusalem. He is in demand as one of the most acclaimed song pianists of his generation.

He has received top prizes at numerous competitions including the International Schubert Lied Competition, the International Johannes Brahms Competition and many other awards locally and internationally.

On the programme are Ottorino Respighi, Camille Saint-Saëns, Henri Vieuxtemps, Mozart and more.

The prelude performer is Nompile Mathe.

The performance takes place at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort (KE Masinga) Road at 7.45pm. See www.friendsofmusic.co.za
