The highly anticipated Col’Cacchio pizzeria Celebrity Chef Series is back and will be running from September until the end of November 2015. This year’s series will see three top South African sport stars team up with three of SA’s hottest young chefs to present their take on a signature pizza.

The signature pizzas will be a combination of both chef and sportsman’s favourite pizza toppings and flavours. The gourmet masterpieces will be featured on all Col’Cacchio pizzeria menus during the months of September, October and November:

November showcases Jabu Mahlangu (Former Bafana Bafana, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder) and Ivor Jones’ (head chef of The Test Kitchen) pizza creation.

Ivor Jones

Born in Johannesburg, head chef Ivor Jones manages the day to day operations of ever award winning The Test Kitchen. Ivor collaborates with chef Luke Dale-Roberts and their team on menu development and working hard at maintaining a high standard of cooking. Jones has been working with Luke since 2007 at La Colombe which is where Ivor started his career. Ivor’s philosophy is about how food makes you feel and how it brings people together for an experience.

Jabu Mahlangu

Former Bafana Bafana, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Jabu Jeremiah Mahlangu made 20 appearances for Bafana Bafana from 2000 to 2004. It was once said by a commentator that when Jabu is on song, the opposition dances. Jabu enjoys various types of meat on his pizza.

November - The Aegean pizza- R125 - combines a hummus base with mozzarella, spinach, feta, miso cured lamb, Peppadew® Piquanté Peppers, tahini mayo, phyllo flakes and is perfectly paired with Place in the Sun Shiraz.
