Seven years after Chelsy Davy confided in friends that “that ship has sailed”, Prince Harry is still the captain of her heart.

According to the Daily Mail, the party-loving prince “wooed” Zimbabwean solicitor Davy again during a recent trip to Africa.

According to a British tabloid, Davy and Harry are seriously considering giving their relationship another go.

“Harry still holds a candle for her,” a source told The Sun. “They saw each other recently. There’s still very much something between them. He has never fallen out of love with Chelsy.”

Harry and Davy split in 2011, but have reportedly remained friends throughout.

Harry has dated a number of women since then, most notable actress Cressida Bonas, who he broke up with last year. Davy enjoyed a “serious romance” with jeweller Charles Goode, before they split in January this year.

A family friend, however, told the Daily Mail that the pair had “a lot to work out” before they could officially become an item once again. When they initially parted ways, on the eve of Will and Kate’s royal wedding, it was because Chelsy was convinced that their “romance was doomed”.

“The royal wedding was a wake-up call for Chelsy. It highlighted how she didn’t fit in with Harry’s family or the life that is already mapped out for him,” the friend said.

“Chelsy is a very strong woman and a real free spirit. While lots of girls dream of being a princess, she has no interest in that kind of life at all. She said she could never, ever see herself as a member of the Royal Family. Chelsy finally decided to call it quits with Harry. She told him that she saw no future in the two of them being together.”

Earlier this year, Harry revealed that he would like to settle down. “It will happen when it’s going to happen,” he said. “Of course, I would love to have kids right now, but there’s a process that one has to go through.”

This new, mature, Harry might make Davy reconsider her earlier decision, said the family friend.

“They have always been in touch and are incredibly fond of each other, although Chelsy swore she would never go back there.

“But they have both matured a great deal since they last dated, so who knows? However I think Harry would have to make a lot of promises about how their life would be.”
