Josh Duggar might have been the first high-profile victim of the Ashley Madison leak, but it’s his wife’s fault.
Anna Duggar, mother of Josh’s four children, will “on some level.... absorb some of the blame' for her spouse's cheating and addiction to online porn,” said a Duggar family insider.
This same source told People magazine that there was “no way” Anna would leave Josh after the 19 Kids and Counting star confessed to using the Ashley Madison site for extra-marital affairs.
“Anna will not leave him. As with her in-laws, she is turning more to her faith than ever. She is fully and permanently committed to her marriage and children.
“She will have the support of Jim Bob and Michelle and everyone else in their circle in terms of staying with him and making this work. Divorce is not even something that will be discussed.”
According to the People magazine source, Anna has to shoulder some of the blame for her husband’s behaviour because she should have been “more aware of the pressures Josh was under”.
According to the Daily Mail, Anna would have done well to adhere to the advice of her mother-in-law Michelle who, in an interview last year, said that a good wife would give her husband sex whenever he wanted it.
“Be available. Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has. You always need to be available when he calls,” she said. According to Michelle, that idea was a “lifesaver” in her marriage. It also brought her 19 children.
Jim-Bob and Michelle released a statement on their website in which their son admitted to being “the biggest hypocrite ever” and ashamed of his double life.
