London - They are the Caribbean’s “rollercoaster” runways – so named because they’re either incredibly short, have a dramatic mountainous approach or involve flying just feet above a beachgoers.

And now (very rich) thrill-seekers are being given the chance to touch down at them in the fastest private jet in the world – the Gulfstream G650.

For £48 000 (about R987 000) a ticket, PrivateFly, a global booking platform for jet charter, has now launched its ultimate flight itinerary, taking passengers to St Maarten, St Barts and Saba to experience the Caribbean’s most spectacular aeroplane landings.

That day trip includes lunch with pilots who regularly take on that route to hear all about the challenging descents first-hand.
