Durban - Gooderson Leisure is bringing a touch of colour to Zululand with the introduction of an exotic new bird aviary to the fascinating Dumazulu Game Lodge and Cultural Village resort, recently opened by His Majesty Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.

It’s a unique spot that has truly captured the heart of the Zulu Kingdom.

Now guests can start their Zulu experience with a spine tingling sangoma consultation and, after moving through the curio shop, enter a larger-than-life aviary that will be home to a wonderful collection of winged friends, including Split White California Quails, Black Swans, Cape Teal, Stone Partridges, Silver Pheasants, Eared Doves, Diamond Doves, Cut-throat Finches, Superb Starlings, Red Factor Canaries, Jawa Sparrows, Pied Jawa Sparrows, Ribbon Finches, Von Decon Hornbills, Brown Bahama Pintails, Blue-winged Kookaburra and many more.

This 3 000m2 wonder world includes an elevated walk way that will enable you to spot exquisite birds in the trees, waterfalls, dams and a flowing river. Benches along the way will enable you to soak in the sights and sounds within the birds’ tree house.

The new aviary is the perfect complement to the fun and freaky reptile park that is home to a host of fascinating creatures.
