Cape Town - Cape Town Carnival is less than a week away.

Tsogo Sun’s flagship Cape Town hotel, Southern Sun The Cullinan, is bringing a taste of the world’s most famous carnival, The Rio Carnival, to Cape Town ahead of Saturday’s glamorous celebration of African creativity, identity and cultures.

From Wednesday, 12 March, to Friday, 14 March, the hotel is showcasing the festivities, colour and rhythms of Brazil with daily Brazilian music, Capoeira dancing, classic Brazilian cuisine and Caipirinha cocktails.

Tsogo Sun is the official accommodation partner to the Cape Town Carnival. Commenting on this partnership, Tsogo Sun’s Operations Director, John van Rooyen says: “It’s extremely exciting for Tsogo Sun to be involved in this year’s Carnival.

“While the event only started in 2010, we see that it has huge potential going forward to attract tourists annually to Cape Town. We share the same agenda and that is to try and make the city an even better destination than it already is.”

On Saturday Tsogo Sun’s sponsored float, The African Dream Doll, will welcome everyone to Cape Town and to Carnival 2014.

It’s a towering 6m tall multi-coloured puppet figure in the hues of the rainbow nation, which embodies the core characteristics of the Tsogo Sun brand.

Building of The African Dream Doll provided opportunities for community involvement, upliftment, skills training and employment.
