Cape Town - City Sightseeing Cape Town, the company that operates the iconic red double decker open-topped buses in Cape Town, have reinvented their much-loved Red City Tour to offer even easier and direct access to Table Mountain, where the tour stops at the lower Cable Car Station.

The new Red City Tour route was conceptualised to provide a direct and hassle free connection to this world popular attraction, whilst at the same time providing more flexible sightseeing options for visitors wishing to explore the Cape Town CBD.

Another benefit of arriving at the Table Mountain Cableway on a red open topped City Sightseeing bus is that visitors are relieved of the stress of finding parking and having to potentially park far away and walk to the Cable Station.

“It is in our culture to listen to what our customers’ want, as indicated by recently having won the Best Consumer Experience Award from City Sightseeing International, plus an award from Trip Advisor for Excellence,” explains Claus Tworeck, CEO of City Sightseeing South Africa.

“We made the decision to reinvent the Red City Tour to offer our customers a seamless and hassle free connection to Table Mountain, whilst at the same time offering more options to those passengers wishing to explore the Cape Town CBD. The City Sightseeing bus is now undoubtedly the best way to get to this New Seventh Wonder of Nature.”

In order to offer passengers more flexibility and the option of also spending time in the Cape Town CBD, City Sightseeing have launched their new “Yellow Downtown Tour” - which is free to any passengers with a Red City Tour ticket.

The Yellow Tour stops at St. Georges Cathedral, the Iziko Museum at the Planetarium, the Mount Nelson Hotel, the SA Jewish Museum, District Six Museum, and the Castle of Good Hope – to name a few.

By re-inventing the Red City Tour as they have, City Sightseeing passengers can spend more time exploring Cape Town’s CBD and its many wonderful stops – meeting the people, absorbing the atmosphere, tasting the food and generally getting to know this wonderful part of the city.
