Cape Town - Guests cruising with Uniworld on 36 of their summer 2014 departures will be delighted with performances by vocalist and guitarist Elisabeth von Trapp, granddaughter of the legendary Maria and Baron von Trapp, whose story inspired The Sound Of Music.
During these exclusive performances on select departures from June to September Elisabeth von Trapp will share the “sounds of music”.
Von Trapp has continued the legacy of the internationally renowned Trapp Family Singers, captivating audiences with an artistic passion that transcends both time and culture. Uniworld guests enjoy performances that highlight her unique and expressive style, including iconic Sound of Music melodies.
Guests sailing on Uniworld's “Enchanting Danube,” will join von Trapp in Salzburg, Austria at the epic Mirabellgarten as she performs highlights from The Sound Of Music, as well as other angelic arrangements extending from Gregorian chants, 12th-century mystic Hildegard von Bingen tunes, early American hymns, and her own original compositions.
Guests will also participate in a sing-along of “Do-Re-Mi” at the famed garden where the original 1964 scene was filmed.
And guests sailing on “European Serenade”,” Danube Discovery,” and “Grand European River Voyage,” will be treated to “the sounds of von Trapp” with an exclusive onboard performance.
