Cape Town - The festive glow of fairylights have added to the charm of Cape Town's cobbled Greenmarket Square, overlooked by Inn on the Square, one of the city's landmark heritage hotels.

Now a permanent fixture of the area, the lights on the square's trees give it a unique romance by night, especially when juxtaposed with the bustling daytime market, making the Inn on the Square a new nighttime attraction in the City.

Once the vendors have packed up their stalls for the day, parking is made available for locals wanting to have an intimate dinner for two at the hotel's restaurant, Dish, and the lights make for a fairytale ambiance whether over cocktails on the terrace or for dinner inside the restaurant with its scenic windows.

The project was endorsed by Cape Town City Improvement District which works closely with the hotel to ensure the safety, security and upliftment of the CBD.

“We are fortunate enough to be located in one of Cape Town's most charming public squares and now with the lights up, the square is transformed from the African Market during the day to a wonderland at night,” says Clinton Thom, General Manager at Inn on the Square.”This would not have been possible without the help of Mr. Richard Beesley from CCID.”

Located in historic Greenmarket square, Inn on the Square is one of Cape Town's heritage hotels and has re-opened doors after an extensive R35 million refurbishment.

The hotel boasts a new décor fusing modern ambiance with an historic touch along with the return of the well-known Dish restaurant overlooking Greenmarket Square.
