London - Few of us would be excited at the prospect of an aeroplane meal: the rock-hard roll of bread, the curry with unidentifiable meat, the claggy rice pudding in a plastic pot.
But in Germany, an online supermarket is convinced there’s a market for aircraft meals to be eaten at home.
Air Food One home-delivery service has joined forces with Lufthansa to deliver business-class meals on the ground.
The supermarket hopes the meals will be popular with the elderly, who don’t want to cook from scratch or office-workers who need a quick dinner.
The best thing about the meals? Being able to eat them without the person in front reclining their seat before you’ve even peeled back the tin foil. - Daily Mail
