Landing in homes... airline food

The best thing about the meals? Being able to eat them without the person in front reclining their seat before you've even peeled back the tin foil.

London - Few of us would be excited at the prospect of an aeroplane meal: the rock-hard roll of bread, the curry with unidentifiable meat, the claggy rice pudding in a plastic pot.

But in Germany, an online supermarket is convinced there’s a market for aircraft meals to be eaten at home.

Air Food One home-delivery service has joined forces with Lufthansa to deliver business-class meals on the ground.

The supermarket hopes the meals will be popular with the elderly, who don’t want to cook from scratch or office-workers who need a quick dinner.
