London - As the lead singer of Boyzone, Ronan Keating got to see the world and its many wonders. We speak to him about his best and worse travel experiences.

Earliest holiday memory?

Killarney in Kerry with my mum, dad, brothers and sister. We’d spent the summer fishing on the lakes and riding horses in forests.

Best destination?

The Maldives. My girlfriend Storm and I recently stayed at the Viceroy Maldives. From the moment you arrive, you feel completely chilled. It was a very special experience.

Travel solo or with companions?

With companions. There’s nothing worse than experiencing the beauty of this world without someone to share it with.

Most traumatic travelling experience?

A husky safari in the Arctic Circle with a friend. Seven hours in, the guide lost his way. He left us in the middle of a frozen lake and he lit a fire in fear he wouldn’t find us again. Eventually he returned, but it felt like a lifetime. – Daily Mail
