London - Do you find London too big? Then make sure you steer clear of China’s proposed new “mega-city”.

While the British capital is 3 236sqm, China has plans to massively expand its current capital, Beijing, to create a city that will measure a jaw-dropping 82 000sqm — the equivalent of 25 London's, ten Waleses or England and Scotland combined.

The new metropolis is being catchily named Jing-Jin-Ji — taking its name from the three districts it will consume — Jing for Beijing, Jin for the port city of Tianjin and Ji for the ancient name of the Hebei Province.

Hospitals, markets, government offices and 1 200 businesses will all be moved under the plans, while high-speed rail lines will allow commuters to crisscross most of the mega-city within an hour.
