JOHANNESBURG - Anglo American Platinum said on Monday it expected its headline earnings per share for the six months ended June 30 to increase to between 1,249 cents and 1,302 cents per share compared with 285 cents during the same period last year.

The company cited its improved operational performance and a better rand basket price for the anticipated increase.

"In addition, in the comparative period, the company had attributable post tax-impairments totalling R2.2 billion impacting basic earnings of which R283 million impacted both basic and headline earnings," it said.
