Independent Media and the Fibre Processing & Manufacturing Seta (FP&M) are calling all Journalism and Communication Science Graduates to participate in a skills development programme supporting the “Racism Stops with Me” campaign. This programme will provide skills development in content production for multiple media platforms focusing on “Race and Racism in South Africa”.

The duration of the internship is 12 months and applicants must be committed to the internship for the full duration.
Successful interns will be paid a stipend and placed across our different workplaces in JHB, Durban and Cape Town from 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017.
The successful applicant must meet the following criteria:
Must have a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent, e.g.Journalism, Communication Science, Information Technology (designing apps will be advantageous)
Be interested in print, online, mobile and digital media
Be computer literate
Be able to work under pressure in a highly demanding environment
Be innovative and creative
Be techno savvy
Own a smart phone
Be committed to the programme for the duration of the internship from 1stApril 2016 to 31 March 2017 in the region of their choice
Have excellent communication skills
Good organisational skills
Good time management skills
Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
Ability to work as part of a team
Good interpersonal skills
Have good understanding of social media platforms
