Consumers process R105bn on FNB digital channels

DURBAN – In the 12 months to June 2018, South African consumers have processed about R105 billion worth of payments through FNB’s digital channels including its app, online and cellphone banking.

According to the bank, consumers have made an average of R8.7bn worth of digital payments each month over the period.

Raj Makanjee, chief executive of FNB Retail said: “An efficient digital payments ecosystem is fundamental to building a compelling digital banking offering." 

He said they believed that their digital banking offering provided superior value when you look at cost, convenience, security and incentives such as rewards. This is enabled through their adoption and integration of cutting-edge technology to facilitate and safeguard transactions.
