Nashua Mobile officially closed all its retail stores across the country on Friday.

This includes a long list of staff retrenchments which have taken place since an announcement was made early this year.

Customers are said to have been sent text messages informing them that it was the end of the road for the company.

On its website, Nashua also confirmed the closure, saying it will, however, continue to service customers’ needs until its subscriber base is successfully migrated.

A cession (transfer) date will also be communicated to customers.

Last night, a Nashua call centre agent said all MTN and Vodacom subscribers would deal directly with the cellular networks.

Altech Autopage will deal with Cell C customers.

Some customers took to Twitter on Friday.

@Popcorn Candi said: “Thank you #NashuaMobile and @MTNza for wasting my time and patience. All the more reason to consider new provider for my upgrade.

#rant while Citizen X wrote: “#nashuamobile is blaming Cell C and vice versa but someone is getting my money.”
