DURBAN – Facebook is getting ready for the festive season by launching pop-up stores across the US. 

Facebook announced that it will open pop-up stores with over 100 brands in nine different Macy's locations. The products from the brands will be available for purchase through the pop-up stores. The pop-up store brands are some of Facebook and Instagram's most loved brands. 

Some of the brands include Love Your Melon, a clothing line that helps raise awareness and fight against paediatric cancers and Two Blind Brothers, a non-profit whose proceeds got to blindness research. 

The pop-up stores will be open at these nine Macy's locations including New York City, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, San Antonio, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. 

The launch of the pop stores can be seen as a step towards creating physical stores for the social networking company according to the Verge. The company is expected to launch a video device the Portal. The devices are expected to be released in November but if they are available at the pop-up stores is unknown.
