DAVID Cosgrove and his South African business partner Cobus Kellermann were in Guernsey to speak to the financial regulator after investment funds linked to the two men were suspended, their attorney said. Cosgrove met the Guernsey Financial Services Commission on Wednesday, a day after Kellermann spoke to the regulator, Johan Theron, a director of Werksmans Attorneys said. Two of the law firm’s partners were accompanying the two fund managers, he said. In an April affidavit, the Guernsey authority said neither Cosgrove nor Kellermann had yet responded to its requests for a meeting. Since then, the pair have started co-operating with regulators. Authorities in Guernsey, Mauritius, South Africa and the UK are scrutinising funds and companies linked to Kellermann and Cosgrove. The Guernsey regulator is investigating whether the funds were correctly valued and if the men failed in their duties as managers. – Bloomberg
