Kibo Mining, the diversified junior mining firm focused on gold, nickel, coal and uranium projects in Tanzania, on Friday reported progress on feasibility studies on a number of its key projects as it swung to small profit. The company has feasibility stage, or early stage production projects, in Mbeya, where it mines coal and uranium across two projects; Lake Victoria and Morogoro, where it mines gold; and Haneti, where it mines nickel and gold. All aspects of feasibility studies on two projects had exceeded expectations: its flagship, Mbeya coal to power, where Kibo is also building a power plant, and Imweru, where the preliminary environmental assessment had shown to support a mine with a six to 10 year lifespan. – ANA
