NUM rejects Eskom wage offer

Johannesburg - South Africa's National Union of Mineworkers said on Tuesday it has rejected a 5.6 percent wage increase offer from state power utility Eskom, demanding a 12 percent rise across the board.

South Africa is in its traditional mid-year “strike season”.

The Amcu mining union signed a deal with platinum producers on Tuesday to end the country's longest and costliest strike. - Reuters
