CAPE TOWN - Paratus - a Pan African telecoms operator headquartered in Namibia says it is now fully licensed in 22 African countries and has vowed not to associate with unlicensed service providers.
Paratus provides telecommunications products and services to 22 African countries, with fully licensed offices in Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia and South Africa.
The company, in the next three years plans to intensify its fibre infrastructure by investing R100 million to Namibia as part of its fibre expansion programme.
CEO for Paratus, Barney Harmse says Africa is one of the fastest emerging markets with enormous business opportunities. "As a fully licensed telecoms operator in all the countries where we operate, we are perfectly positioned to take advantage of this opportunity," Harmse added.
Harmse ellaborates that they work in close cooperation with regulators in every country in ensuring that the services and products they provide are approved and licensed locally.
The company says their ability to provide an outstanding customer service has afforded them growth opportunities, hence having established presence in Lisbon and London.
According to the telecom's operator statement, on 20 March 2012, Paratus was issued with a Class Comprehensive Telecommunications Service License following further expansion of its 4G network, national and international network to provide telecommunications services to the Namibian public at large as well as the private and corporate sector.
