Investment management firm Prescient has appointed Herman Steyn as chief executive and executive director.

The previous chief executive, Murray Louw, will become the chairman and Monty Kaplan will be the lead independent non-executive director.

The appointments took effect on Friday, the firm said on that day.

Meanwhile, Dorbyl financial director Janus Theron resigned with effect from the end of this month. Last month the JSE suspended the engineering company’s listing after it failed to submit annual financial statements. – Asha Speckman
