Johannesburg - South African chartered accountant Darrel Scott has been appointed to serve on an international financial body of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) foundation.
“Scott has been appointed as the chairman of the small and medium enterprise implementation group by the trustees of the IFRS foundation,” the SA Institute of Chartered Accountants (Saica) said in a statement on Wednesday.
The previous chairman left the institution on December 31.
Scott started serving as chairman in January.
He is the former chief financial officer of the First Rand Bank group.
He is currently a member of the International Accounting Standards Board based in London. - Sapa
