Johannesburg - Canadian International Trade Minister Ed Fast on Monday announced a South Africa-Canada Chamber of Business (SACCB), the Canadian High Commission said.

It would provide a forum for Canadian companies and investors in South Africa, spokeswoman Valery Yiptong said in a statement.

“The bilateral chamber will present a collective voice for Canadian companies and will inform its members of developments in policies and regulations that may affect their businesses, and advocate on their behalf.”

It would promote partnerships with South African companies.

Fast, who made the announcement in Johannesburg, also announced the opening of Export Development Canada's first office in Africa.

It would focus on connecting Canadian businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, to intra-African trade. - Sapa
