1. RwandAir launches Kigali-Cape Town route via Harare

RwandAir will be the first airline to introduce a direct flight between the Zimbabwean capital and Cape Town and the new route will be operational four times a week, all year round, with the aircraft departing from Kigali, collecting passengers in Harare to touch down in Cape Town.

2. SAA’s revenue is below budget

South African Airways’ (SAA’s) year-to-date revenue is R2.04 billion below budget, while the airline’s costs are R400 million above budget, according to a quarterly report to Parliament.

3. Premier concludes controlling stake in Talhado

JSE-LISTED Premier Fishing and Brands has acquired a 50.3 percent stake for R85 million in the Talhado Fishing Group in South Africa after the competition authorities and the department of agriculture, forestry and fisheries (Daff) gave the transaction the green light yesterday

4. Vodacom to launch a new platform for video content

Vodacom has confirmed that it will soon launch a new content service set to offer a wide selection of media.The platform will offer many genres and types of content, and will include access to third-party services.

5. Municipalities owed Eskom R13.8 billion 

Eskom board chairperson Jabu Mabuza reportedly told Parliament that municipalities owed Eskom R13.8 billion at the end of April. 

6. Moyane’s team studies Ramaphosa’s refusal letter 

Former Sars boss, Tom Moyane’s lawyers are reportedly studying President Cyril Ramaphosa’s letter in which he refuses to agree to Moyane’s legal bill requests. 

7. First phase of R50 billion Tshwane Auto City to fire up

A massive R3 billion mixed-use development is to commence in Rosslyn this week, which was expected to be the catalyst for the development in the area of the planned R50bn Tshwane Auto City over the next 10 years.
